Saint Malo

Saint-Malo is a port city in Brittany, in France's northwest. Tall granite walls surround the old town, which was once a stronghold for privateers (pirates approved by the king). The Saint-Malo Cathedral, in the center of the old town, is built in Romanesque and Gothic styles and features stained-glass windows depicting city history. Nearby is La Demeure de Corsaire, an 18th-century privateer’s house and museum.

Dinan

A charming medieval town with a 14th-century castle, medieval ramparts, cobblestone streets and half-timbered houses.  It's Gothic-style Saint-Malo Church has vibrant stained-glass windows. The Clock Tower offers panoramic views. Below, the small marina leads to some leisurley walks along the river. The Rail Museum has model railways, plus posters and signal boxes.

Lake Guerlédan

The shores, beaches and water sports centres offer excellent departure points for kayaking, sailing, pedalo or water skiing on the lake. A trail goes all the way around the lake.  The ferry boat is a more leisurely way to see the whole lake.

Island of Brehat

A small island affectionately known as the 'Island of Flowers' just off the coast from Paimpol is reached by a short ferry ride.   Paths lead to varied landscapes with small ports and beaches giving way to dramatic red cliffs.
